In the mean time, they are buying 450 MHz Xeons from.....INTEL !

Gateway first to announce home system that uses Intel's fastest processor

NORTH SIOUX CITY, S.D.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 12, 1998-- Gateway today is first to announce a home
PC that incorporates Intel's latest 450MHz Pentium(R) II Xeon(TM) processor. The GX-450XL is a fully featured
multimedia powerhouse. Sales begin October 19, 1998.

''This is technology at the cutting edge,'' said Mike Holstein, Gateway's director of desktop products.
''Gateway has a history of rapidly bringing new processor technology to enthusiasts and power users through
the Pentium(R), Pentium(R) Pro, and Pentium II lines. Now Gateway again moves to the front of the pack,

The powerful GX-450XL gives Gateway clients one of the most robust systems on the market today. The
system also allows clients to update their computing power through expansion capabilities, including five PCI
slots, a 300W power supply, and four DIMM slots for up to 512MB of SDRAM. The full ATX tower case has six
3.5'' drive bays and four 5.25'' drive bays for added expandability.
