Then after 3pm we see 18,500 sells at the ask and they dropped the bid once this happened. Seller stopped, and the bid edged up.

Okay, can you please explain this to me as though I don't know? (because I don't)

How can you determine that these 18,500 shares were sells - and not buys - at the ask?
