Melissa, Ive been short Sap twice in the past few weeks, first at 51 and change to cover at 41 3/4, and then my current position at 44 1/2. Read this article:

Overall, I sense a movement away from very expensive integrated app suites. Also, it is the middle market that is growing, not the high end really. And as you know I think the entire sector is in a slump, either real or perceived it really doesnt matter because all the stocks are depressed. In the case of Siebel, it could be a perceived problem but with Sap, I think theres real problems ahead and with that lofty valuation they are sure to fall. Also, y2k is more of a problem for the larger firms that have legacy systems and that is Saps entire installed base. Well, its just a guess like anything else but if Sap ever gets up in the high 30s again I suggest thinking about a short at least.
