Patriot Scientific Invited to Report On Its Java Based PSC1000 Chip At
International High Speed Data Forum in Switzerland
Workshop to Hear from High Performance Networking Users Group
SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 13, 1998-- Patriot Scientific Corp. (OTC:PTSC - news) announced that they are participating today in a special international forum that will bring together leading high speed data communications manufacturers for the first public demonstration of a Gigabyte System Network (GSN) application.
The meeting is being held at CERN, the European Center for Nuclear Research in Geneva.
Patriot's president and chief executive officer, Jim Lunney, is presenting, joining speakers from Silicon Graphics Inc. (NYSE:SGI - news), Compaq Computer Corp. (NTSE:CPQ), Sun Microsystems Inc. (NYSE:SUNW - news) and GENROCO Inc. (OTCBB:GRCI - news).
Gigabyte Systems Network(TM), or GSN(TM), is an emerging technology that features a 1600-megabyte per second duplex data transmission rate. It is expected to become the high performance network backbone of the future. The technology is expected to have many applications, including high definition television, scientific and technical computing, data mining, transaction processing, video and film archiving and storage management.

At the event, GENROCO will be participating in the first public demonstration of GSN technology. GENROCO's new TURBOfibre SHP-6464 GSN controller, powered by Patriot's versatile, high performance, Java-based microprocessor, will be highlighted at the event. The
controller will connect a Compaq/Digital Alpha computer system to a Sun Microsystems computer.
