Dug,

You can probably answer this question. There's a LOT of debate about DSL vs. cable but, as I understand, cable is only connected to one workstation. There are NO cable modems that work through routers. Routers connecting to multiple computers. (is that statement about cable modems true).

Second, most businesses will NEED to have routers so they can connect several PC's to the internet.

Thirdly, there will be some home deployment but the vast majoroity of DSL services are focused on businesses. Businesses have the first need (both speed and full-time connection so you can host your own web site) and they pay more.

Therefore, for low-cost, high-speed internet connections, DSL will deploy first (compared to cable) and will have the highest REAL demand (from businesses).

I have an ISDN router in my office and understand the ease of use of having a router. I wouldn't consider anything else EVEN for my home.

Comments?

later, leroyt
