i was in touch with my broker and he indicated this sellof was window dressing only for year end .His take on it is that it was already a known fact of today's event and the timing couldn't be any better especially when AMPEX is closed down for the holidays and no one can contact them for any news which scared the little investor and scurried today's sellof. IBM announcement is already discounted by the time the strong buy recommendation came out..how can one (brokerage house) be incognizant of that fact when signing their name to a BUY?? his thoughts ..and i thought sharing them with you. i bought 2000 shares today @8 13/16 cheers
