Down 18-20% on no real news... Basically that's why I've gone in today. One person's short is another person's buy opp, I guess. We assume there's news. But we don't really know whether it's good or bad. I agree with Lucius 100%, except when he states that the market "thinks" the news is bad. I think the market "fears" the news is bad. Quick trigger fingered institutional investors are not taking the chance that it is bad and are bailing out. Looking at a five year PSFT chart tells me that in any case this might be a nice point for a long-term entry. Macro conditions: low interest rates; more easing bruited about; bond rates low; economy not overheated; Japan doing something; Brazil ready to accept help; stock market itself not a heated bull market anymore. An OK daytrade? NAZ down over 100 DOW-equivalent points and basing. PSFT has based also. The DOW isn't low enough for a good daytrade, though. Never mind, buy half a position; if DOW falls too, buy more. An OK position trade if there's an upside EPS surprise. Or, at the least, I've averaged down and eased some pain. <g> And will endure more if it falls. It will rise eventually, won't it; it's a "growth" stock. Just thinking aloud. Trying to convince myself after the fact. Luck to us all. Tom
