Brilliant logical conclusion, Paul.

No, I want Gateway to use AMD's chips because it would be good for AMD. I respect Gateway's products, but I don't love Gateway. I would like it if Packard Bell used AMD chips, too--even though I don't think Packard Bell makes great computers.

Finally, I don't need a 450 MHz Xeon. I'm more than happy with my K6-233. If I were going to invest more money in home IT right now, I'd be buying more internet bandwidth, not more processing power.
