Joe - Re: "How much L1 / onchip L2 is Katmai supposed to have?"

The original Katmai had 32 KiloBytes L1 cache on chip and ZERO L2 cache on chip.

The Coppermine - the follow on to Katmai - should have 32 K L1 cache and at least 256 KiloBytes L2 cache ON CHIP.

The Cascades, another follow-on to Katmai, due at about the same time as Coppermine, may have 1 or 2 MegaBytes of L2 cache on-chip.
