Jill, I've been informed by SI personnel that it's not possible to recover a deleted thread and that there is no way to know who deleted it or why.
Wow! I create a Technical Analysis thread in the Market Trends section, and after his other numerous harassing posts, William W. Dwyer, Jr. continues to stalk me and is of course the first to post on it. See Reference 1 (Ref 1) at bottom.
Then he commences a flame war with impristine on the thread so as to disrupt the topic, and I get terminated without warning for creating a Coffee Shop thread for him to post on instead of my stock threads. Now, the evidence is being systematically deleted and there is no way to track it. The thread still existed at the time I sent the email documenting William W. Dwyer, Jr and len harassment of me.
For it to be deleted now, obviously someone thought there was something that "needed" deleting. Please note that I never responded to William W. Dwyer, Jr. , impristine or len on the thread. It strains credulity to rationalize why my bonafide thread subject would be deleted and William W. Dwyer, Jr., impristine or len not be sanctioned. Clearly, if their posts were so bad as to require deletion of the entire thread, there was clearly a violation. See Reference 2 (Ref 2) at bottom for a copy of this bonafide thread subject header. Further, it seems very wrong to delete the entire thread subject that I created, when the problem was actually with miscreant members, not the subject. Miscreant is defined as used here: playsite.com .
Is SI also going to delete my Legal Recourse thread in the Brokers/Resources section that len and William W. Dwyer, Jr. also made harassing posts to? As I partly rely upon SI to save my work for future reference, can SI email me copies of my threads and posts before they are deleted?
Perhaps someone could look into recovering my Posts that were deleted from the thread, ". . . and there was no one left to speak for me." I do not believe that there was anything improper there and would like to have it restored. The value of SI is greatly diminished, if history is denied.
SI is a virtual universe populated by beings that are existentially defined in their entirety by what they say. There are no other actions or deeds. You are your speech. To the extent another SI being silences your speech, they kill you, in this virtual world of SI. IMHO, this is the connection between the Real World that gave birth to the poem, ". . . and there was no one left to speak for me," and SI's virtual world where some try to silence others or defeat the truth in the service of their own greed or need. SI has, in effect systematically assisted in my extermination and then the creation of a REVISIONIST history.
You may find two books of interest. The Altruistic Personality, Rescuers of Jews in Nazi Europe, by Samuel P. Oliner. I got it at the holocaust museum in D.C., but you can get it at Amazon. The parallels in behavior as I have attempted to explore it in my thread, ". . . and there was no one left to speak for me," are quite remarkable and frightening, especially when combined with SI's complicity. It includes an analysis of Rescuers versus Bystanders. Unfortunately, it doesn't include an analysis of Collaborators. The other book is, The Transparent Society, by David Brin. Among other things, he talks about some of the problems of online anonymity.

pretty much completely off-topic with everything that relates to S.I.

give it a break for a while, huh?
Your threads do no good, your messages make no useful point. And
you, personally, never answer anyone's remarks to you. Well, if
they suck up to you, you sometimes do. Otherwise, your threads go
nowhere.
Why don't you try to do some trading of your own, spend some
time in the markets, and leave S.I. for people who have something
worth saying?
