First, Mr Clinton is wrong. Alcatel announced the deal with ASND after Cisco and ALA determined there was no synergy in that space. Second, if both organizations are going after the same market that spells competition - not cooperation. First, Gary is wrong. Alcatel has been dealing with ASND for well over a year now. That press release was just one small part of a very long deal. ALA is very smart. They could simply bleed ASND of their technological advantage and end competing with them.. furthermore in the spirit of cooperation ALA will have access to ASND accounts. That's a joke. Alcatel owns 100 times as many accounts as ASND. It's ASND that is partnering with Alcatel to gain access to their accounts. And Alcatel could never hope to compete with ASND on technology issues. If you can't beat them join them. Maybe Cisco should think about this. :) :)
