Stitch, thanks for your response and this discussion does indeed belong to another forum, except that there seemed to be little serious discussion about the negatives of the Japanese business model some twenty years ago. In fact there may have been, but I was not reading about these issues then. Thus one must always look at the big picture, particularly when trying to invest.

One more thought though; there are many questions in life that cannot be answered. I can think of three reason why. 1. The famous Godel's
undecidibility theorem.
(put it on Alta Vista, if you are not up on this). 2. The development of language is partial. 3. The brain is of finite size.
