Did anyone else get a kick out of Kurlak's first question on the CC?

Kurlak:
Yeah, I just wanted to, uh, comment on the, uh, ASP statement. With operating profits, you know, down in dollar terms by 6% year to year, while revenues are up 9%, how is the ASP flat?

Now, at this point what I want to know is whether Kurlak was actually thinking "I've got 'em now"?

Otellini:
...It's not an ASP issue; it's a cost issue.

Granted, it was prudent of Otellini not to break into a sarcastic review of the basics of accounting...

...but wouldn't it have been cool if he did?!

No wonder Kurlak's estimates sometimes seem like they come from numbered ping-pong balls randomly pulled from a bingo machine <g>

Good trading,

Tom
