In looking over all the posts here since February of 96 and going back over the press releases from Proteon I quickly concluded that PTON has been an investment failure in 1996. However having said this looking at their 2nd and 3rd quarter sales they did manage to keep growing their targeted market of remote access. Sales remained steady at 10.6 million over two quarters. This past fall they have released some more products, announced some alliances and improved the remote access line. I may be overly optimistic but I would think there is a chance that while there will probably still be a loss in the 4th quarter ending tommorrow there is also a good possibility that Proteon will show some more improvement in their moving over to the remote access market. I would guess that at $2.50 per share which right now is below book value this does not seem like a bad buy for a company perhaps on the verge of showing some progress toward a turnaround in sales and earnings. (The globetrotter line does seem to get good reviews) On the other hand I could be wrong, but at least this story looks promising at this point and we are beginning a new year, time for optimism maybe.
