MM, Re: Intel.

I think Intel management is panicking. They are chasing the clone makers - a lesson they should have learned from IBM in the 70's and 80's where they never rolled over to the clone makers with the large mainframes. IBM did not have to in order to keep their customers and Intel did not have to. They more than likely could have "marketed" the clone makers out of business. I am watching them trying to diversify, and I thought we learned this lesson in the 70's. Also, I think it was a mistake to push out the 68 bit processor. Maybe their engineering could not make it happen, but I think they had the "marketing clout" to bring it to market and do in the 64 bit companies. Could be another Harvard case study if they don't get back to their knitting.<ggg>

I was looking at their numbers--they are stinking out the house.

Just some of my current thoughts on Intel.

Joan
