I did not see the newest upgrade of the CAPSCAN at the trade show. They had recently remodeled the "bullet" shaped probe, which will now be free standing inside the UST ...and are also changing the cap a bit, too. I did see an earlier model of the cap, which is supposed to be a bit larger than the new model. The one on display was I believe 6 inches in length, the improved model should only be about 2-2 1/2 inches in length.
The top screws right on top of the fill pipe, which has a diameter opening of 5inches (standard), and a slightly larger lip. The cap that I did see looked like a professionally tooled product, nothing cheesy about it. Housed inside the cap are electronic meters which will transmit a signal to the metallic "bullet", record the data and transmit the signal, with meter readings to the hand held monitor.
Would somebody seeing this product think that this product is worth the $2,200 as the projected selling price? Keeping in mind that this price is for 3 caps, 3 bullets and one hand held monitor (as James Marks posted), I would answer YES!!! To be able to have 3 tanks monitored with such ease, IMO, I think that this is a very fair price and quite enticing. I say this with little hesitation because I do know associated costs with installing new UST's and clean up costs that are always associated. |
