.....DENVER -- In a move dripping with irony, Corel -- current owner of the once king of word processors, WordPerfect -- has licensed the progeny of Microsoft's very first product, Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), to help make Corel's products more competitive.
....."This is one of the most important [VBA licensing] deals we've done. WordPerfect defined word processing for the first decade. It's the most widely recognized name we've licensed. It's a great deal. It creates a much richer rich-client story," said Tom Button, director of marketing for the developer division at Microsoft.
