FastLane™ Introduces Industry's First Integrated Enterprise
Directory Management Suite

-- FastLane Directory Management Suite Supported by Versatile
Enterprise Directory Management Engine and Open Scripting
Environment --

Halifax, NS, October 13, 1998 -- FastLane™ Technologies Inc., a
leading supplier of Directory Management solutions for heterogeneous
networks, today announced the FastLane Directory Management Suite
to manage increasingly complex enterprise networks. The product suite
is the first to offer enhanced administrative capabilities for Windows
NT® enterprise networks, providing reduced TCO (Total Cost of
Ownership), increased productivity, improved security policy
enforcement, and a preparation method for Windows NT 5.0 Server
migration.

The FastLane Directory Management Suite includes:

Virtual Administrator 4.0 for delegating simple, repetitive tasks to
trusted Windows NT end users ("virtual" administrators). The
product, undergoing beta testing next month, includes an Active
Directory simulator, allowing enterprises to deploy a Windows
NT 5.0-like hierarchical domain architecture on Windows NT
Server 4.0;
Domain Manager 5.0 for planning and automating Windows NT
domain reconfigurations, and preparing Windows NT 4.0
domains for migration to Windows NT 5.0. The product is
undergoing beta testing and is due for release next month;
Directory Reporter 1.0 for fast, easy and automated enterprise
directory reporting, allowing system administrators to monitor
and maintain enterprise directories. The product is undergoing
beta testing and is due for release next month.

The FastLane Directory Management Suite is supported by Active
DMS™ (Directory Management Service), an enterprise directory
management engine that supports heterogeneous directories. Active
DMS is multi-threaded, COM and fully ADSI-compliant, enabling
customizable enterprise directory management solutions from
FastLane, its partners, and other products.

In addition to supporting the FastLane Directory Management Suite,
Active DMS includes:

an open scripting environment supporting Visual Basic®, Java®,
C++, or any COM-compliant development language, as well as
FastLane FINAL™ scripts, for flexible and customizable
enterprise directory management; and
enhanced libraries to support Windows NT, Microsoft®
Exchange, Banyan® VINES®, and other networks such as
Novell NDS and Microsoft® Active Directory via ADSI.

"Most enterprises are grappling with increasingly complex and
sometimes overwhelming directories created by applications, email
servers, networks, databases and other sources. The FastLane
Directory Management Suite allows enterprises to easily control,
manage and optimize directories and their millions of associated
objects through integrated Directory Management," said Jan Kaminski,
president of FastLane. "FastLane's Directory Management strategy
accommodates today's directory issues while providing a stable
Directory Management framework for future directory requirements
related to ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), HR (Human
Resources), DEN (Directory Enabled Network), and extranet initiatives."
