Williams CEO interview worth reading entire article.

How do you differentiate yourself from Qwest, Level 3, and IXC? First of all, we have experience. The other difference we have on the technology front, we are very much a pure play. We truly are trying to move to one network infrastructure-to ride all services over one platform. That's different from some of the other players. There's a lot of hype about native IP networks. You've got players like Qwest saying that they're building native IP, but it appears to me they are actually taking the same road that the legacy players did. They're building an IP network, and they're building an ATM network. Different networks for different applications. We're not doing that. We will be a backbone ATM network. And we're going to ride all these services over that network so we get the quality and service guarantees of ATM, but we meet whatever our customers want today. Level 3 is the other extreme. They're saying they're strictly IP. Again, when they really start building a network out, I think they're going to see that customers will want more than just pure IP. So again, we're trying to give our customers what they want, not make them force-fit into what our technology is
