Attendance at 1998 Advanced ATM Conference Hailed a Success by Greenland Corp.;
Check Central Generates Significant Interest From Marketplace

Business Editors

SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 14, 1998--Greenland Corp.
(OTC BB:GLCP) Wednesday announced that the company's attendance at
last week's Advanced ATM Conference in San Diego, where it
demonstrated its Check Central check-cashing technology and system,
was a great success.
Check Central generated a solid amount of interest from major
players in banking and retail, who were specifically attending to view
the latest technology and newest products in the industry.
The third annual Advanced ATM Conference is now one of the
premier trade shows of its type, with more than 75 percent of the
attendees coming from senior management. The conference provides a
unique opportunity to reach powerful decision-makers from leading
banks, nonbank deployers, processors and EFT networks. This year's
attendees included Wells Fargo Bank, Chevron Corp., Bank of Hawaii and
Wochovia Bank.
Lee Swanson, chief executive officer of Greenland, commented on
the company's success at the conference, "We received more than 50
sales leads from this trade show, of which most of these potential
customers expressed a high level of interest in visiting our beta site
in November of this year.
"Obviously, in gauging the success of a product in its infant
stage, the credibility that major banks and retail giants can bring is
tremendous. Given that these firms evaluate new technology nearly
every day, the fact that Check Central stood out as one of the most
cost-effective and innovative systems speaks very well for the future
of the product."
Check Central is a system that integrates stand-alone check-
cashing ATM machines with a 24-hour "back-office" customer-support
operation, all connected through sophisticated proprietary computer
software.
Designed to service the 40 million Americans who do not have
traditional banking relationships, Check Central allows customers
without bank accounts to cash checks at Check Central ATM machines.
Customers apply through any Check Central ATM for a Check Central
Check Cashing Card, which is very similar to a standard ATM or credit
card.
Operators are standing by 24 hours a day to assist customers, if
needed, through telephone lines connected directly to each Check
Central ATM. Once the application is approved and the card issued, the
card allows customers to cash checks at any Check Central ATM machine.
Greenland's strategy is to bring to market leading-edge
automation technologies. Check Central, a proprietary system that
provides automated check cashing, money orders and ATM services from
automated free-standing retail units, is designed to take the place of
overhead intensive check-cashing stores.
Some 6,000 check-cashing stores in the United States generate
more than $1 billion in check-cashing fees annually. The AirLink
system is a patent-pending wireless-communications technology for
automated reading of utility meters. The company's strategy is to
market this technology to utility companies representing a market of
approximately 300 million residential utility meters.
