Gary, I came away with the same impression on comparing the product lines, and there is no doubt that Lannet languished under Madge. But now they will have a much more substantial sales and marketing force behind the products, not to mention the deep pockets of LU for R&D.
My posting here is not to disparage XYLN, or even to compare XYLN to Lannet. XYLN is currently a premier supplier of high end LAN switching gear, and Lannet is a wannabe.
But, the fact is LU bought Lannet, and not XYLN. Probably because they felt the technology was competitive, the price was cheap, and with some sales muscle behind them, they could prosper.
Lannet and XYLN are not complimentary companies. They are competitors. My purpose in posting is here is just to point out to people that LU will not likely buy XYLN. Doesn't mean someone else won't step up. It just won't be LU, IMO.
