I wonder if profits as defined by Samsung equates to operating
income and does not include interest expense ? I believe the
Samsung Group has 8 or 9 billion dollars in debt. The interest
expense on this debt much of which is dollar demoninated must be
a very large number. It is interesting that Samsung Electronics
is in the domestic bond market borrowing the equivalent of $ 360
million monthly. It doesn't sound like Samsung's cash flow is
particularly good and it sure sounds like interest expense will
only be going higher in the future.
