I'd be careful. That Hyde is a smart guy. He could be trying to lay low before the election, only to step up the pressure after November. Maybe they see it's not a real hot-button campaign issue. Maybe they see that it's bringing Democrats as well as Republicans out of the woodwork and into the polling booths. Keeping it quiet might cause more Dems to stay home. They hate Clinton with an irrational zeal, and some of them might want to impeach him just for the joy of it, regardless of polling data.
