Restaurant Teams International, Inc.
Announces Opening of Second Street Talk Conversion

LONGVIEW, Texas, Oct. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Restaurant Teams International, Inc. (OTC Bulletin
Board: RTIN - news) reported today that the Company opened its second Street Talk restaurant
conversion in The Colony, Texas on Tuesday October 12, 1998. The Prototype Street Talk unit
opened to the public on May 9, 1998 in Richardson, Texas and was followed by the conversion of
the Fresh'n Lite Cafe and Grill on Frankford Road in Dallas, Texas in July 1998. The Colony
conversion will give the company a total of 3 Street Talk restaurants in the Dallas market.

Restaurant Teams International, Inc. President and Chief Operating Officer Henry Leonard,
commented, ''Located on busy Highway 121 and Main Street, this location offers tremendous
upside with substantial future retail and residential development. A 240,000 square foot Super
Wal-Mart (NYSE: WMT - news) will open at the intersection on October 28, 1998. The Colony
conversion gives us a total of 3 Street Talk restaurants in the Dallas market. We expect to open 2
additional Street Talk restaurants in 1998 for a projected 5 Street Talks and 1 Fresh'n Lite Cafe &
Grill by year-end. This will allow us to begin broadcast advertising in the first quarter of 1998 or
about six months sooner than expected.''

The Colony restaurant is a 4,700 square foot, 170-seat restaurant and dining adventure. The design
elements of the restaurant convey a historic western atmosphere and utilize distinct concept elements
to provide guests with a superior ''total dining'' experience. Guests walk into the restaurant and are
greeted by the Street Talk Marshall who tells them about the concept and suggests menu items.

Dining rooms feature memorabilia of the era. An all weather patio features open air dining year
round. This makes dining at Street Talk a true event and helps the concept deliver greater value by
offering an interesting and entertaining environment. The restaurant features an assortment of casual
dining menu items for the entire family including steaks, pastas, pizzas, salads, signature sandwiches
and delectable desserts.

In addition, the Company reported that it will broadcast its popular radio show with Dallas Cowboy
Chad Hennings at The Colony location for the next several weeks. Mr. Hennings will appear from
7-8 p.m. on Wednesday evenings with NBC 5's Brian Jensen and will feature different guest Dallas
Cowboy players each week. Customers can register to win tickets to Dallas Cowboy home games
and Mr. Hennings will draw winners each week. The show is broadcast on radio station AM 1310
''The Ticket'' on Saturday evenings from 11-12 p.m.

Curtis Swanson Chief Financial Officer further commented, ''I am very excited about the growth of
the Street Talk concept and the position we are taking with respect to acquisitions. The Company
has been positioning itself over the past months as a multi concept restaurant holding Company. The
internal growth as well as the acquisition we are currently targeting are designed to increase public
awareness and enhance shareholder value over the coming months.''

Restaurant Teams International, Inc. is the developer and operator of the Fresh'n Lite Cafe & Grill
and Street Talk Cafe concepts, full service casual dining concepts featuring over 100 choices of low
fat and non-fat items without compromising taste, service, or atmosphere.
