I think the news of layoffs at LSI has held VLSI's price today, despite good news from Apple, and other positive reports from semis. VLSI got their cutbacks out of the way earlier in the year. LSI waited until now.

Perhaps the merger with LSI wasn't the great deal we all thought it would have been, and the future will indicate management actually made the right move by keeping VLSI independent... Jim
