MindSpring Acquires Cyber Connections Subscribers

ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 14, 1998--MindSpring Enterprises, Inc. (Nasdaq: MSPG) today announced it has purchased the consumer dial-up Internet subscribers of Cyber Connections, Inc.
of Atlanta. MindSpring is a national Internet service provider. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed. This is the sixteenth subscriber acquisition MindSpring has announced this year.

"MindSpring is proud that Cyber Connections decided to move its subscribers to our service," said Cliff Bryant, MindSpring's director of acquisitions. "We will do everything within our power to meet or
exceed the service they have received from Cyber Connections."

In transitioning to MindSpring's award-winning service, each Cyber Connections subscriber will receive the MindSpring Starter Kit, which includes MindSpring's user access interface and a complete suite of
Internet software for Windows 95, Windows 3.x, or Macintosh; a comprehensive User's Guide; and access to MindSpring's 24-hour toll-free technical support service. Transition of the Cyber Connections
subscribers should be complete within 60 days.
