Well, we have to define "drop dead".

If it is an uninvited visitor that objects to smoking and is polite I step out on the deck if I want a smoke. If the polite visitor is a nonsmoker and says ok to smoke I make sure the seating is so the smoke goes away from the visitor and cut way back.

Now on the other hand, if this is an obnoxious person, I apply the 12 gauge sawed off shotgun theory and light up. Used to grab the sawed off first, only three times, to get them to scat. Now I give them the smoke warning first. President Bush made me kinder and gentler, hell I grab the 357 now.
