Quincy:

I am not aware of other participants fighting for the best interest of providers and consumers.

I thought ericy held talks with the Q a few months ago? Ah, it is getting to royalty rates again. Well, here is my opinion, If the ETSI converges the standards, then the Q should reduce their royalty rate.

The Q has emphatically stated that 5% is fair. However, 5%, 10%, or even 100% does the Q no good if there isn't much support.

Remember the laffer(sp?) curve that Reagan supported? As tax rates are reduced, tax revenues increase.

Personally, I feel that if the ETSI converges the two systems, the Q should substantially reduce their royalty rate. This gives the members of the ETSI an incentive to converge. If not, the Q will be locked out of all Europe and a part of Asia.

No one is going to win if this things goes into litigation.....
