Let me get this straight:

Japan is pissed because the stronger yen affects their exports? I'm sure they would like a strong yen to try to export their way out of their mess but I don't feel especially sorry for them. They have sat on their ass for close to a decade ignoring their problems and, despite the recent headlines, I still don't think or believe that they will go through with any meaningful reforms. What are they going to threaten the u.s. with? We have been subsidizing their national defense since the end of the war and if I were living in japan I would not feel comfortable living with the threat of n.korean ballistic missiles within range....and no "independent defense forces" to deal with it. Let them make their "meaningful" decisions. I just wish we had president like Truman who would make meaningful decision when it came to u.s. interests.

P.S. Summers "diplomatically" telling Japan that we will believe when we see it and no earlier...
