Corel inching closer to break-even point
..."I was a little bit surprised at how well their graphics software did," Shoesmith says. "I guess that's good news and they've refocused their attention on that market again. Eighteen months ago, all you heard about was them going after Microsoft with office productivity stuff."

...Shoesmith wonders whether the Linux bandwagon will be profitable for vendors. "Pretty much every vendor is making a commitment to Linux, but whether there's any real hard sales is another question," Shoesmith adds. "Linux is still at a grassroots level, and not a lot of companies are using it for any mission-critical applications, and office productivity software is mission-critical."
