It will be interesting to see if Gruntal downgrades VLSI tomorrow. Gruntal basically asked about expenses in Q4. One would think that with the staff reduction now in place, expense would decline in Q4--either management didnt understand the question, or they blew it. Instead of picking up on the employment cost reduction and using it to management's advantage, they instead talked about how R&D expense would be going up--hence negativly impacting earnings next quarter. Credit to management however, they did dwell on design wins--but the actual revenue generation from that appears to be in 2nd half 99. Anyway--I personally think VLSI has much more going for it than management conveyed to the analyst community. I think the problem is the absence of professional presentation, not necessarily execution.
