RE: What I buy long goes down, short goes up. Can't wait for
reincarnation so I can come back wiser and maybe profit. Not in this lifetime.

DJF,

Boy, I hear ya...But unlike you, I can't figure out what I've learned even if I get another life. Kinda pitiful...

A bunch of people sure want to be bullish all of the sudden. But here are things I don't get:

1. What is the earnings upside to the market?

2. Small caps are getting smashed even with decent earnings. They are being priced like they are out of biz. In 'rally's' like today's, they are not showing any volume or positive price movement. What does this mean?

3. There are several high profile stocks that by any reasonable measure are grossly over valued even now: AMZN, YHOO, DELL, even CSCO and LU. Don't these need to be hurt to end a real bear? Isn't this a real bear? Please tell me this is real bear..or I don't want to see a real bear.

4. What happens if companies begin significant layoffs (as I believe we have begun to see)? How are people going to invest without jobs, and what would that do to the market?

5. Technically, the DOW still doesn't look well...The 200 dma is moving down (no?), the DOW is below the 50 DMA. We are still under 8000 and the trend.

So, please help me understand why I should go long here.

B.
