>>American Millennium Corporation Reaches Agreement To Install Refrigeration Monitoring System
TAVARES, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 14, 1998--American Millennium Corporation, Inc. (NASDAQ OTC: AMCI) announced today that it had reached an agreement with the owner of a chain of convenience stores in west Texas to install a refrigeration monitoring system capable of reporting equipment failures and temperature changes.
Stephen F. Watwood, CEO of AMC, confirmed that the system utilizes an AMC "Tele Link 2056" monitoring unit installed as a pilot test in an Odessa, Texas convenience store. " This pilot test will demonstrate our system's capability to dial, page, or fax out up to eight people, PC's, or pagers that a refrigeration system has failed or is failing. It will then recycle the alert to those contacts until it is acknowledged," he stated.
James C. Statham, President and Chief Operations Officer of AMC, confirmed that AMC has reached an agreement with the owner of some 250 branded stores of a national convenience store chain for testing the system as a pilot program to evaluate the viability of a system-wide deployment.
Watwood further noted that "The AMC Tele Link system is perfect for convenience store owners. For a basic, affordable monthly subscription, there is a lot of peace of mind in knowing that when a walk-in cooler or ice cream freezer fails that the system will automatically notify a security monitoring provider, refrigeration service personnel, a store manager, or anyone who needs to be called, faxed, paged, or notified by PC that there is a problem. Quick response to a compressor going down can often mean the difference in saving or losing thousands of dollars of ice cream, lunch meat, milk, and other perishables. AMC is bringing to the market a very cost efficient hardware and software solution that delivers fast, accurate, and reliable data for a low monthly fee."
AMC offers remote monitoring services for fixed and moving assets such as oil and gas wells, railcars, and intermodal containers via wireline and wireless protocols including satellite monitoring.
The company will exhibit its remote monitoring services at the Permian Basin International Oil Exposition in Odessa, Texas on October 20th, 21st, and 22nd where it will provide on-site demonstrations of automatic data gathering from oil wells and natural gas compressors. The company is currently gearing up for installation of multiple test sites for a number of companies that have requested proof of concept.
This press release contains forward-looking statements that involve risk and uncertainties that could cause the company's actual results and experience to differ materially from anticipated results and expectations expressed in these forward-looking statements. In particular, AMC's plans may be revised, and its actual results may differ materially from that indicated by its current plans.

Too bad the market chose to reward this good news with a downtick...I think that pennies are dead for the near future, unfortunately. |
