Other than the pro forma earnings, everything in SEG's latest quarter sucks. I wouldn't be too surprised if the quality of earnings has been manipulated some. After all, it's not like they don't have a big kitty saved up from all those prior one-timers. And just so they don't run out, they create another one, an accelerated pre-pay of Quinta milestone payments (the 77 mln is good for 6 or 7 quarter's worth).

Mix has deteriorated, ASPs are down, and guess what folks, SCSI (except for the really low volume, high end stuff) is commoditized. Still thinks that the triumvirate of SEG, IBM, and Fujitsu will dominate this space. Questions the commitment of WDC and QNTM in continuing their beachhead. Are they delusional or just stupid? Adding a SCSI line is as easy as swapping a few chips from one's high perf 7200rpm desktop line. Hints that they have some secret response to this incursion in low-end SCSI. No big secret, it'll be just like the Medalist Pro SCSI. So they must be delusional.

p.s. Anyone look at Apple's results? Revenues completely FLAT, yet they manage to turn in stellar earnings. Wonder how...
