I also try to read negative stuff when I am exuberant and positive stuff when I am fearful (today). I even print out stuff from here and save it for days like today. The trick is to keep an eye on the big picture...and that is MMX, KLAMATH, VOICE RECOGNITION, DIGITAL TV, BUSINESS UPGRADES, EARNINGS, and a P/E that is STILL below the market.

I would like to reprint one especially nice jewel that was posted on the Prodigy Bulletin Board on December 8th by Ramsey Bordcosh (KCTR74A@PRODIGY.COM):

Here are the top 10 reasons why INTEL will go much higher in 1997:

1. The new MMX chip will sell like hotcakes
2. The upgrade to WINDOWS NT will spread worldwide.
3. No company will be able to unseat INTEL's dominance (BN note...the latest grief at CYRIX seems to support that)
4. The INTERNET will experience explosive growth worldwide in 1997.
5. The successful marketing of "INTEL INSIDE".
6. The stock will split.
7. The network computer will fizzle.
8. The stock is relatively cheap at 16x 1997 projected earnings (this was BEFORE the recent earning estimate upgrades)
9. We will finally have a balanced budget amendment which will lower interest rates and spark the economy (I do not agree about an amendment, but do think that barring any unforseen disasters or wars, the budget deficit as a % of GDP will continue to shrink).
10. Intel will become the most profitable company in the world.

While some of those 10 were merely hype, there is a lot of truth to think about there.
