Thanks Teri,I like what I am hearing and what I hear is noteworthy.

....''For the next year or two or three in Asia, we don't need market expansion, we don't need increased IT spend to succeed,'' Dell Asia Pacific president John Legere told a briefing.

''We have 2.5 percent market share in Asia, so all I need to do is to continue to deploy the Dell model successfully and take share from the existing players,'' Legere said.
...............

The growth came despite a nine percent decline in the regional market overall, Legere said.

Asia/Pacific contributed about 6.5 percent of Dell's worldwide revenues in the second quarter.

Legere said Dell would be well placed in its strategy to become market leader in the region if it could improve from seventh position in Asia/Pacific by two or three places over the next 18 months.

''We were profitable in total in Asia, including Japan, last quarter. We will be profitable in Asia/Pacific and Japan this quarter,'' Legere added.

This was particularly pleasing as the company was balancing a loss in China, where it has funded its new manufacturing centre in Xiamin in the southeastern province of Fujian, against profitability elsewhere, he said.
