Investing to me is like gardening. I find out what works for me, how my mind and energy and skills work and how they interact with the environment. I then deliberately exercise patience and am persistent in doing what I know will work for me in the end. I moved to Florida from California in 1992, and found I had to learn a lot about what will and will not grow here. Even plants that grow in the wild will not grow in the garden without skillful use of knowledge about them. In Florida, certain native plants like oaks and wax myrtles will stop growing in the prolonged hot summer, but when the cooler weather comes in the Fall will send out new growth again. I have the advantage to go and look at trees I planted 26 years ago. I can see in real life the power of patience. To me an investment is like a plant. Even the ones I know are going to grow when conditions are ready will simply sit there month after month. Sometimes new problems occur with plants and sometimes what looks like a problem really wasn't one after all. Knowledge and patience are my keys to success in growing a satisfying garden and building my net worth. Charles
