Eventually you have to figure a recession

into your scenario. If you use P/E then 8 to 12, if you use future earnings and growth rates then future prices will have to be adjusted for the slowdown. Watch those capital spending plans and listen in the distance for the sound of Brazil, China, Japan, and Russia earthquakes.
