Anacomp and Microgen UK Announce Outsource Services Agreement

SAN DIEGO and WELWYN GARDEN CITY, United Kingdom, Oct. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Anacomp, Inc. (Nasdaq: ANCO) and Microgen UK Ltd., today announced an agreement in which Anacomp will become Microgen's exclusive provider of computer output to microfilm (COM) and CD services for an initial period of three years.

Under the agreement, Anacomp, a world leader in information management solutions, will acquire Microgen's four outsource service bureaus located in England and Scotland. Microgen, a leading provider of computer output services in the United Kingdom, will retain front-end customer contact and outsource its Computer Output to Microfilm (COM) and computer output to compact disk (CD) production to Anacomp's International group.

"This agreement strengthens Anacomp's position in the marketplace and provides for a steady stream of recurring revenue," said Peter Williams, Anacomp's executive vice president responsible for the International group. "Because of our extensive experience in COM services, we are positioned to introduce synergies and economies of scale that will increase efficiency and enhance customer service."

"This arrangement allows Microgen to continue our long-standing relationships with our clients, and at the same time, focus on our core business," said David Herridge, managing director, Microgen, UK Ltd. "Our partnership with Anacomp lets us maintain a commitment to our customers and existing product offerings while reducing the costs and infrastructure associated with the COM business."

The transaction also includes the acquisition of 80 Microgen employees currently working in the four COM service bureaus. "We are pleased to welcome Microgen employees to Anacomp," said Williams. "Our priority is to provide a seamless transition for our associates while ensuring that there is no interruption in service to our customers."
