To Rajala: Your point that the WLL network will be about the same price as the mobile network needs some facts behind it. Do you have any? More important is that the mobile network (even if more expensive) may be so much more versatile as to be the preferred build out. The two major uses of WLL will be in the 3rd world where by far the vast majority of people live. In Asia and Latin America, WLL will thrive in cities where the lines are as a practical matter not accessible due to factors ranging from antiquated equipment to bureaucratic procedures - with waiting lists for the monopolistic or government land wire phones the norm. And WLL will thrive as "village phones" similar to a pay phone which can be used by the townsfolk as needed. The interesting question is whether these needs will be served by free standing WLL systems which have no mobile element. Or will a combination mobile and WLL system be built and used as the norm? Seems like efficiency will be the question - not whether it might be cheaper to build a WLL service which will not permit mobile features. In any case, assume both types will be built and time will tell. Certainly the city example for fixed wireless and the village phone which is also fixed can be served by a non mobile system. Will they? In either or ( more likely) both cases the Q should be a major participant and the $$$s will roll in. Chaz
