Look ,Rick don't get me wrong I'm in no way saying this is a good guy here. The point I'm trying to make is that the Constitution has specific criteria for impeachment. No matter how bad a guy he may be these are the criteria that we must go by,nothing more nothing less.As for the term "misdemeanors" I do not pretend to be well enough informed on the early meaning of the word to debate this with you. It has been discussed on the other thread by people who would know and the consensus was that it had a some what more severe meaning at the time. After all why would it be only high crimes and bad behavior? Makes no sense. <<If he lied about some thing so inconsequential as an illicit affair why won't he lie to us about some thing much more important to his agenda?>> Well as I have said before many Americans have had affairs and all lied about them. This in no way means that they would lie about something important.Remember the affair could be looked at by many as a personal issue. It is not inconsistent to want to keep such behavior private and at the same time to understand that affairs of state must be disclosed honestly to the American public. Whatever you may think of BC I believe it would be a dangerous precedent to make any exception to the Constitution in order to get rid of him.
