The more and more I look at the market I am picking up small hints that the market could be strenthening.

The DOW is/has been actually above the trendline, which has not been a frequent occurance lately.

I am not so sure that the forthcoming downswing will be that strong to the downside - maybe later cycles. If we do break 8084 to the upside convincingly, then the forthcoming downswing should be small.
