Canadian Crude Separators Inc. (CCS) announced today the completion of its newest Class II Oilfield landfill near Fox Creek, Alberta. Completed on schedule and on budget, this first phase of development will provide capacity for 300,000 tonnes of waste disposal, with future phases providing an additional 1,000,000 tonnes of capacity. Although the landfill design exceeds EUB regulatory requirements for a Class II landfill, the facility is licensed for and will accept non- dangerous solid oilfield wastes, consistent with Class II landfill disposal criteria. The landfill is fully operational and is located approximately 9 km east of Fox Creek on Highway 43. The completion of a second landfill is a continuation of the CCS's commitment to provide safe, reliable and cost-effective disposal of processed oilfield waste solids and contaminated soils. Superior landfill design, coupled with comprehensive operating policies and procedures, CCS safely provides environmentally responsible solutions with the goal of minimizing the future liability of the waste generator.
