It is very strange to analyze how SUNW has been behaving recently. This reminds me of the panic selling of ORCL before the first quarter earnings report in September. Fundamentally, there is no problem with SUNW in terms of products, sales, and management. The problem is with the stock price which is controlled by the market. If we look at the PE ratio, it is beautifully sitting approx. at 19, less than CA's 23, ORCL's 39, or HWP's 21. I just feel that the stock will soar AFTER the earning report in Jan. 97. Of course, it all depends whether SUNW will meet earnings expectation. SUNW's CEO, Scott McNeally, often complained about Wall Street punishing SUNW stock price when posting good earnings. Maybe the game this quarter is to punish the stock before earnings report then rewarding it afterwards. Just my thoughts. I sold most of my positions of SUNW today reluctantly. I wish all of us luck. Happy trading in 1997. David
