Not at all. 30% is about the percent of Republicans who would vote for candidates like Robertson, who tells the folks that he can stop hurricanes if he wants to, and used to get his political scoops from Lyndon LaRouch, at least until old Lyndon went to jail.

I think most the Religious Right is always prey to loonys like this. These are people who would vote for a cow, if the cow could pound a bible.

Of course you could say there are counterexamples like Farakon (sp?), but actually he is way right wing too, sort of in the Ayatolla mode. I don't believe those folks belong to any party. Their platform is segregation, Islam, and so forth. They have no influence in the Democratic party.
