Larry , this might be a little confusing as we are both posting on AMD and OPTI .So this in answer to your OPTI question . I can not answer your question on video conferencing , perhaps you could phone the co. or E-mail investor relations . The reasons I chose OPTI were :- before Intel got into the chipset business OPTI was in no 1 position with 22% of market (in 1995) . As an AMD investor it was natural to look for a chipset co. that would benefit from K5 + K6 sales . Even though AMD is going to manfctr their own chipsets , they are doing this as a safeguard so not at the mercy of other cos. . OPTI have consistently in the past released the leading edge products hence #1 .
They are also providing cost effective sound support on the M/board. This coupled with their low market cap , which is below book value @ $7.50 approx, provides a low risk investment with considerable upside potential . How high? The 30th dec Business Week gives a comparison on page 164 of semiconductor cos. .The average stock price for the 14 cos. is 3x book value .Using those figure alone to find an average price for OPTI it would be $7.50 x 3 = $22.50 . Just a few thoughts , regards Brian
