To me the rate cut indicates that the fed is worried about the future of the economy, so perhaps the market took this the wrong way. Also, doing this on the day before expiry will surely anger a lot of folks. There may be some fallout from the fed jerking the market around unexpectedly at such a time. Maybe some folks would like to hold up the market until after the election. After all, was it really necessary to have a special meeting? I expect some pull back tomorrow.
