I have not tried out using a 10 day RSI. Aside from the book mentioning that stronger move signals result from a shorter RSI, it does seem to make sense. Prices do ossilate and you don't want an RSI of say 3-5 days...moves just too quickly giving false data.

Come to think about it, maybe for a stock moving as fast as TLTK, a 10 day RSI might not be a bad idea. The intuitive reason i can think of is that when you have a normal RSI (7 day), it can depict a rise to 80 or so and tell you the selling point. A longer RSI will not reach the same RSI height (ie, 95.6) so it will be more smooth. Moreover, the price diffence lat time was significant between 93 and 95.6 eyt the RSI was pretty close.

So for EXTREME stocks such as TLTK, a 10 day RSI tracked back 3 months so one can get patterns might not be a bad idea at all. The two working together can supplement one another.

Whoever wants to do it, have at it. I caution though that before you post any results, that you should go back 3 months and ID patterns with RSI for both formats....because the number 70 or 75 could be "equal" depending om what the daily up and down average is...

SO far up 289% since 12/31/95....probalbly up a total of 580% ($15) after a sodid 3-4 weeks...then hopefully a pattern of ups/and lower downs will appear such as ASND.

I did do some PE comparison stuff (in class today) but will be much more useful after the EPS announcemetn...until tomorrow...off to write a paper...
