Since I had already
deleted one it doesn't make sense to me that it would not put one back in the same
place.

How many cloned images did you have on the #2 drive after you deleted one?

I now feel comfortable installing NT on the second IDE drive as the primary
installation is protected by the MO KOT drive.

Amen!

I do not like crossing the controller platforms
(IDE-SCSI) for the KOT drives

I agree... crossing a foreign controller seems froth with pairal (pairal=parel?) I am not that adventerous. Yet.

I believe Sean indicated that it would work in a previous post

I hope Sean reads and confirms.

I believe consideration should be given to using a JAZ2 drive in lieu of the
tape/SparQ combination.

OK.. I see in lieu of SparQ...but how can the 2gig Jaz be *comfortably* used for complete final (fail safe) backup of a 4-8 gig primary?

try to install NT on an IDE drive.

Well done so far ZP. Safe and sound clone on the MO. Thanks for taking time to be detailed and specific in your commentaries. I'm saving all this for not too future reference.

On to the NT install.....
