Exactly. This ledger is incomplete. The early entries before 1888 are one thing, but there look to be some funds and checks unaccounted for starting after page 2. This is not just sloppy bookkeeping if these are the only records of these checks. The bank statements and copies of the checks would be an important next step, to be sure. It could be pieced back together from that. Not to mention the fact that the cancelled checks, if available would reveal the accounts they were deposited to. Dare I say someone appears to be covering something up here?
